A WOMAN who simply took her vehicle to a repair shop for service is just getting her car back after over five months.

Just last week, Amanda Galloway was reunited with her 2008 Chevy Impala after deciding to trust Maga Motors with servicing her automobile for seven months.

The car owner paid the repair shop $1,000 immediately for the service she needed as she was in the process of moving into a new home and expected a quick repair.

Maga Motors is now facing several lawsuits, local Gray Television network KSFY-TV reported.

"I haven't seen this thing since September," Galloway said when she got her vehicle back.

"They even cleaned it, too."

The driver was moving across the country with her four-year-old son after her divorce from her alleged abusive ex-husband had been finalized when her car broke down.

She needed emergency repairs but her vehicle had broken down on Saturday of Labor Day weekend and most repair shops were closed.

When she paid them $1,000 for the repairs she needed, the driver didn't expect the business to have her car for over five months.

The mom thought she'd see her vehicle again by October.

"I was coming out of a bad situation," Galloway explained.

"Then I had faith in somebody and they let me down. And it was just like being kicked when you're already down."

By February, the woman hadn't heard from the mechanic with an update on the progress of her auto repairs for months.

"My car's being held hostage for money," the driver stressed back in February.

"I don't have sitting in the bank because I'm a domestic violence victim that just fled and left and moved all the way, literally, from one corner of the country to the other."

The auto repair business had opened during the summer of 2022.

Galloway learned that Maga Motors had already been evicted by owner Nice Place Holdings by the beginning of February.

Her car had been moved to a local tow lot without Galloway being notified.

At the time, Galloway expressed that the situation with the repair shop was odd.

"It's not putting a great taste in my mouth about the state of South Dakota," she said.

The car owner expressed that she felt the situation was hopeless and she was "ready to give up on it."

"I was literally ready to give up on it because it was becoming an upside-down situation," Galloway explained.

Everything changed for her when a Vern Eide dealership insisted that it wanted to fix her Impala.

In only two months, all the repairs her vehicle needed were done.

The dealer had over $4,000 worth of repairs on Galloway's Impala.

The car owner didn't even have to pay Vern Eide anything.

"I've been inconvenienced for six or seven months," Galloway admitted.

"But at the end of it, I'm definitely coming out on top."

The office of South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun's request for comment.
