Redick's microphone appeared to cut out at the start of his rant, leading one X consumer to ask if ESPN 'Minimize his mic?'[/caption]

Citing Kevin Durant and LeBron James as examples, Smith stated, "It's an issue with a number of elite players.

"They're also elite basketball minds. And numerous occasions, they don't categorical it.

"They assume you don't know, they assume you don't have a capability or a willingness to study from what they're prepared to teach you about as it pertains to their recreation and the best way that they play it, they usually don't converse enough on that.

"They'll clap again at a comment or a tweet or one thing like that that any person else has stated if something goes viral and it ends up on social media or whatever.

Smith's comment clearly hit a nerve with Redick.

"Since when is it gamers' jobs to teach individuals on basketball? When did that turn into a thing? Isn't that our job?" he requested.

Redick continued his rant by saying, "And right here's the truth. That is the ecosystem we stay in…" at which point his microphone appeared to cut out.

"I can do a video on my podcast the place I break down the last 9 video games the [New Orleans] Pelicans have used Zion Williamson as the primary ballhandler and what sort of actions that has led to," he stated, as picked up by one other microphone.

All the while, Smith fiddled together with his earpiece, seemingly struggling to hear Redick's rant.

"I seemed it up this morning, 54,000 views on YouTube," Redick continued.

"But I wanna call out a coach yesterday, oh, that will get tens of tens of millions of engagements.

"That's the ecosystem we stay in. So do fans truly need to be educated or not?"

The trade, sarcastically, went viral on X, previously often known as Twitter.

"Is JJ Reddick a menace to Stephen A Smith's place on First Take?" requested one fan.

"LOL they reduce his mic ?" claimed one other.

"Everytime JJ is on First Take he's screaming and arguing about one thing, he is too emotional and it's a nasty look to all the time be like this," commented a 3rd.

Whereas another added, "It's additionally hilarious his mic conveniently stop working proper as he gave instance after which popped right back for the remainder of what he had to say."
