IT'S BEEN MORE than a year since Queen Elizabeth II, the world's longest running monarch, died; and globally people — and even animals — have been commemorating her incredible acts of service on what would have been her 98th birthday.
Looking back on her 70-year sovereignty, BAZAAR is acknowledging Queen Elizabeth's elegant use of fashion as a means to subtly reflect the current British social and political landscape, as well as her own values. From her Norman Hartnell ivory wedding gown, purchased with clothing ration vouchers following the war; to her signature head-to-toe colour blocking — which according to daughter-in-law Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was worn to ensure crowds can see her; see some of the Queen's most opulent looks throughout history below.
