LEEWAY singer Eddie Sutton opened up about his fight to stay alive in a tragic social media post – just weeks before his death.
The punk rock star, 59, died on Friday following a battle with lung cancer.

Just weeks before his death, Sutton gushed over a blue T-shirt that was designed by his friend, per an Instagram post.
The merchandise featured the word Leeway emblazoned on the front of it.
"I might be in hospice fighting to stay alive but I'm doing a series of unique and new T-shirts, Hoodies, hats, and beanies as I grind down until I can't no more," Sutton wrote.
"I'm pulling out all the stops to make as much [sic] new styles and ideas instead of just the usual Leeway merch you'll find plenty of that when I leave this world."
Sutton said at the time he was still kicking and revealed he had fight left in him.
"Stay tuned more is coming," he teased.
The social media post featured the front and the back of the T-shirt.
"Keep fighting for your life. You're in a marathon race now," a message on the back of it said.
Fans urged the singer to keep fighting as they rushed to comment on the post.
"You are the G.O.A.T," one commenter said.
Others said they were excited for Leeway-inspired hats to be released.
Sutton shared the post on April 5 – just days after entering hospice care.
In 2022, he revealed that he had been battling cancer for several years, per Blabbermouth.
"I have a spreadable form of cancer called squama carcinoma," he told fans.
"It started in my right lung, and I have two masses in the back of my left kidney, the top part, called the adrenal gland."
He said he was winning the fight, but admitted he didn't think he would win the war.
'MARATHON RACE'
Friends launched a GoFundMe page to help him cover medical expenses and more than $37,000 was raised.
"I need the help of my friends and family more than ever and I hope each of you knows how much this means to me," a heartbreaking plea said.
"I have a lot to look forward [to] in life still and I don't want to leave this world in such a condition."
A wake will be held in Queens, New York, on April 23.
Tributes have poured in as news of Sutton's death emerged.
"Rest in power my friend," Toby Morse, the lead singer of the punk rock band H2O, posted on Instagram.
"Thank you for everything you gave the world."
Mourners described Sutton as a kingpin and a legend in heartbreaking social media posts.
