AMERICAN Idol host Ryan Seacrest has announced a musical tribute planned for the show alum, Mandisa, who has died at 47.
Mandisa was found dead in her Tennessee home on Friday morning.
In tonight's episode of American Idol, Ryan gave a shoutout in memoriam of the star.
"Before we take a break I wanted to take a moment to honor a dear member of the Idol family who we sadly lost this week, Mandisa," Ryan told American Idol audiences.
"She was an inspiration during her time on this show and beyond," he stated.
"We are going to celebrate her next week with a special musical tribute," the host declared.
"Our hearts go out to her family and all of those like us who call her a friend," Ryan concluded.
Mandisa competed on American Idol on season five back in 2006.
After finishing in the top 10 of Idol, Mandisa released her debut album, True Beauty, in 2007.
After competing on Idol, Mandisa went on to produce several studio albums and was nominated for five Grammy Awards.
Her 2013 album, Overcomer, won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2014.
SAD LOSS
A cause of death has not been confirmed, but an investigation into the singer's death is ongoing.
Her representative made a statement confirming her death.
"We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased," the singer's rep revealed.

"We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time," the statement concluded.
'STRUGGLES'
Her colleague David Pierce, the chief media officer of the Christian radio network K-Love, made a statement on X.
"Mandisa loved Jesus and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn," David said.
"Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart.
"Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles.
"Mandisa's struggles are over.
"She is with the God she sang about now.
"While we are saddened, Mandisa is home," David concluded.
Mandisa was open about her ongoing struggles with suicide, depression, and weight.
While she was competing on American Idol, host Simon Cowell was criticized for making snide jokes about her weight.
The singer stated she forgave his remarks but admitted his comments hurt her feelings.
She lost 120 pounds after her time on the show but was open about gaining it back when she lost her best friend to cancer.
Mandisa released her latest album, Out of the Dark, in 2017 in hopes that she would help others going through a similar experience.
